Kitchen remedies for skin

Before we discuss honey and whether it’s great for your skin, you first need to know about the social media industry in bed with natural topical treatments. The business sprang up when a bunch of acne patients realized that commercial face washes weren’t helping them, nor antibiotics, and decided to look for alternative remedies.

Businessmen everywhere took notice and suddenly all sorts of wacky products burst onto the market. You can wash your face with apple cider vinegar, jojoba oil, baking soda, shea butter, lemon juice and many random plants that apparently work much better simply because they are natural.

FACT:

Most of these products do not work. This industry has a very high volume of scams. In many cases, the products were created simply to take advantage of the interest in natural products; in other words, they’re there to make a quick buck and not to improve your skin. The range in all natural skin care is honey for acne.

OH, Honey.

Honey is a humectant and also an anti-inflammatory. The problem is that this sticky substance for acne is not the answer. This because it is so thick and although it has healing properties and the ability to act as a minor anti-inflammatory. It doesn’t take the place of regular skin care treatments and acne home care. Honey is antibacterial and also anti inflammatory. Although, before heading to the kitchen instead of coming in to get a facial, consider all the hype. Also consider the thick molecular structure of honey. It is acting like a barrier, not a delivery system. Save the honey for the teas.
