Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 is something of a skin-care unicorn for its ability to shrink pores, slough off dead skin, clear up acne, and make skin feel so soft in a matter of days.
It isn’t uncommon to look a little red/sunburned as your skin adjusts to P50. For me, it usually lasts about a week, but you can temper it by watering it down; just soak your cotton pad with water before dabbing it with the toner.

Lotion P50/P50 1970
P50 1970 is the toughest, roughest, OG version. Stinging and redness is par for the course—but actually, it’s good for any skin type. It’s got all the good stuff you know and love about P50, including an intense blend of AHAs and BHAs to give you that glow. But what makes P50 1970 particularly special is the mix of Phenol, sorrell, myrrh extract, myrtle, and onion. (That’s where the smell comes from.)
P50 New formula- Just means it was formulated after 1970 and without the phenol.
P50 1970- My favorite and with Phenol. This needs to be used similar to an anti-biotic. You should not use 1970 everyday. Your skin will become resilient to it, and your skin will stop responding. Use as needed, when breaking out or after traveling, partying or excessive stress. Switch off with anothe amazing P50 lotion.
P50 Pigm 400-
For the beach bunnies and all honeys
This is the newest formulation. Pigm 400 was released in 2016.The newer P50 sensitive skin formula is actually the most popular. It does not have any phenol in it, but it does have a few extra acids, vinegar, onions, and horseradish. The new PRM 400 also contains wasabi. Wasabia Japonica Root Extract which has anti-baterial properties and Lactic Acid with helps with cell reproduction.Wasabi naturally contains B3 which is a great antioxidant and acts as a shield against the acne “p” bacteria.
